Probably intended for sports. Fabric is, I think, a fine wool gabardine, not itchy, very soft. Side metal zip to fasten and two very old popper buttons to the waistband. Neatly top stitched pleating to the upper hip and a full leg cuff which sits approx mid thigh. Slot pocket in the side
